From unbeaten fighter to unbeaten coach: Khabib goes 4-0 after his cousin's Bellator win
Khabib Nurmagomedov will remain in the history of MMA as one of the most successful fighters of all time, with his stunning 30-0 record. Now it looks like he's well on the way to become a successful coach as well.
The Russian coached his cousin Usman Nurmagomedov prior to the Bellator debut against Michael Hamel on April 3. Usman won by unanimous decision adding another victory to Khabib's 4-0 streak as a coach.
Before Usman vs Hamel bout, the retired UFC champ helped his other cousin, Umar Nurmagomedov, beat Sergey Morozov at UFC Fight Island 8 in January (2nd round submission via rear-naked choke).
He was also in the corner for Islam Makhachev at UFC 259, helping his fellow countryman to the 3rd-round submission against Drew Dober. After that, Khabib coached Abubakar Nurmagomedov, one more cousin of his, who beat Jared Gooden via unanimous decision at UFC 260.
