The upcoming Tyne-Wear derby between Sunderland and Newcastle has stirred up some pre-game drama. With the first face-off in eight years approaching, tensions are high.
A Sunderland fan added fuel to the fire by visiting St James' Park, Newcastle's home ground, to record a cheeky video. They dressed up Alan Shearer's statue in a Sunderland shirt and had a little dance beside it, all caught on camera.
This Saturday's FA Cup clash between the two teams has fans buzzing, especially after their last match ended in a 1-1 draw back in 2016.
Newcastle fans, however, weren't very impressed by this dance near the statue of Alan Shearer.
FECB (Twitter): "They only wanted to see what a world class striker looks like in a Sunderland shirt. Bless them. I wouldn't care but that statue parked in the penalty area would probably still score more than the strikers they have on their books. Bount to get a couple lucky deflections a season."
Marksy: "Doing it in the middle of the night is crazy."
kallum williamson: "So they’ve gone in the middle of the night when no one is there and done it😂. Whereas their actual club has changed the signage at their stadium for us hahaha."
ProbablySid: "Nothing they do will overshadow them redecorating their stadium for the Geordies 🤣🤣🤣 Not to mention this brave lad has waited until like 3am to do this rather than during the day."
