Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp not happy with empty seats at the Emirates: 'It doesn't turn you on'
Former Tottenham star was unimpressed with Arsenal's 3-0 Stoke City win. The reason is the lack of fans present in the stands. Redknapp believes it may be the reason why the Gunners left it late to secure the three points.
“It doesn’t turn you on. It’s not easy as a player, you’re coming out, you want to see a full stadium like we’re going to see here [at Stamford Bridge] this afternoon.
“But I think that’s probably what’s happened at Arsenal at the moment. Fans aren’t turning up thinking they’re going to see exciting football. I think the first 20 minutes summed it up.
“Then they started to get a grip and I think the players in midfield started to get hold of the game. (Mohamed) Elneny, Wilshere and Ramsey and then things started to happen after that. Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey were obviously heavily involved and Arsenal started to get hold of the ball.”
• According to the reports from Evening Standard's James Benge, Arsenal fans are not overly excited to watch their team in the Premier League. There were a lot of empty seats during Arsenal's game vs Stoke City.
Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, was quite okay with the low attendance, claiming that the fans will be back on Thursday for the Europa League match.
