Gerard Pique ahead of Chelsea clash: 'In Barcelona we are the favourite to win any game'
Pique is ready to face Chelsea
Barcelona must aim to pick up a positive first leg result against Chelsea to avoid their season taking a bad turn, according to defender Gerard Pique. Having trained as normal on Thursday, the defender is now back to full fitness and in contention to return to the side against both Eibar in LaLiga and Chelsea in the Champions League. Pique is already excited about that tie and explained the importance of the Blaugrana leaving London with a good result.
"You have to go there well prepared and ready for the challenge because a bad result can make you go from a very good year to one that isn't so great. Expectations are high. As long as you play for Barcelona you are the favourite to win any game and you have the chance to do it."
"The atmosphere is positive and good around the squad, but we also must be cautious and learn from the experiences of previous years. We want to go there to try to win and take the first step towards getting through the tie."
Barcelona have benefitted from a rare free midweek this week, following their tiring run to the Copa del Rey final.
