ESPN also confirm Conte sacking
- Antonio Conte's exit seems inevitable
- The news has been initially revealed by multiple Sky Italia journalist
- Chelsea-oriented ESPN's correspondent now states the same as well
As an ESPN FC Chelsea-focused correspondent Liam Twomey reports, referring to close to the club sources, Chelsea have parted ways with Antonio Conte after reaching a compensation agreement for the final year of his contract.
Chelsea sacking Conte now only makes the start this week look more farcical. At least all parties can finally move on, but this should never have dragged on until July. A £9m pay-off is cheap compared to the financial consequences of another below-par season #cfc— Liam Twomey (@liam_twomey) July 12, 2018
It is indicated in the report that Chelsea are expected to announce Sarri's appointment. The ex-Napoli boss is supposed to join the club on an initial two-year contract. The move for the 59-year-old tactician also implies the signing of the Partenopei's midfielder Jorginho. The Blues are believed to pay a combined fee of €65 million (£57.5m).
