- Eden Hazard is rated the highest among all of the players despite Belgium's loss
- N'Golo Kante is unsurprisingly also included in the line-up
On Eden Hazard's outstanding display, WhoScored's Ben McAleer wrote: "With a WhoScored.com rating of 8.40, Eden Hazard is our best-rated player of the semi-finals. The Golden Ball contender completed more dribbles against France (11) than any other player has managed in a World Cup match so far. Les Bleus took to any means necessary to stop the Red Devils skipper, with Hazard fouled four times, while his pass success rate (96%) was the second best of all starters in the semi-finals."
On the Frenchman's performance, he added: "It was another solid performance from N’Golo Kante in the middle of the park, with the Chelsea star gaining a WhoScored.com rating of 6.71. By his usual standards, it wasn’t the best-rated showing from Kante, but he mopped up in the midfield nicely as he made two tackles, two interceptions and returned a pass success rate of 90.9% to keep things ticking over in midfield."
