- Arsenal got a hard-fought win at Bramall Lane to progress to the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
- The boss is delighted with victory over a tough opponent and is happy with the players' attitude and performance.
- Arteta hopes this win will lift his side and help them gain momentum as we face relegation-bound Norwich next.
"I am really pleased," Mikel Arteta said after the game as quoted by the Daily Mail when asked about the win over the Blades.
"This is a difficult place to come and get a win. We are back at Wembley. I am really happy with the attitude and performance of the players. It is a great opportunity to try to win a trophy and play in Europe."
When asked about the overall importance of this victory for this team, he added: "I think every win gives you a bit of credit and a margin as well and gives them some encouragement," the club's official website reports.
"At the end of the day the results dictate the spirit and the happiness of the team but it is much better than it was when we lost against Brighton so hopefully we can have some momentum.
"We can play at home as well. It's been a while since we did it so hopefully we can get another win."
Arsenal lost both fixtures against Pep Guardiola's side in the Premier League this season with the same scoreline - 3-0.
Our record against the Citizens over the recent years does not instil hope in the possibility of eliminating such a fearful opponent as we've lost 7 games in a row.
However, the last time we defeated City was 3 years ago... in the FA Cup semi-final! Sergio Aguero broke the deadlock in the second-half as Nacho Monreal cancelled out his efforts soon after that. It was Alexis Sanchez who secured us a place in the final with an extra-time goal.
Arsenal triumphed in the competition that season beating Chelsea 2-1 in the final.
By the way, Chelsea and Man United will decide the other participant of the showdown at Wembley.
