Evening Standard: Arsenal want Gazidis to stay
- Milan want to lure Ivan Gazidis with big sums of money
- Arsenal are urging him to stay with the club
Evening Standard report that Arsenal are insisting on chief executive Ivan Gazidis staying with the club despite overtures from AC Milan. The club is in the process of restructuring right now and the board would like Gazidis to guide the Gunners in the post-Arsene Wenger era.
Earlier it was claimed that Ivan Gazidis wa one step away from joining Milan. The reason is probably purely financial as at Arsenal, Gazidis earned £2.6m (as per information from October 2017), including a £919,000 bonus. And that is while Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League.
Milan are reported to be able to increase that salary significantly.
