Main reasons why Arsenal should not let Aaron Ramsey join Liverpool
Playing for 90's Kian Long writes on the point
1. He's a rival!
"Selling one of your star players to a rival club is never a good thing. Unfortunately, Arsenal have had many first-hand experiences with this. The likes of Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri and Emmanuel Adebayor were all sold during Arsenal’s transition. Nowadays, Arsenal have no reason to sell to a direct rival, but for some reason they always do.
Aaron Ramsey should be sold to the highest bidder asap. Nothing against him, but it's a new era for Arsenal - a club that needs total commitment, and cash. Plus, I'm sure Arsenal can find someone else to score goals against mid-table garbage.— Arsenal Truth (@TruthArsenal) July 26, 2018
"Ramsey would almost certainly strengthen any club he goes to, and losing him will come as a big blow to Arsenal. The best option would obviously be to tie him down to a new deal, but if that’s not possible, then selling him abroad would be a good idea. Barcelona have been known to be interested in him, and he has said in the past that playing in Spain would be something he is up for."
2. Unai Emery should follow his own plan
"When Unai Emery landed the Arsenal opening, reports suggested it was due to him wowing the board with his presentation on how he can bring the club forward. In that presentation, two players, in particular, stuck out, Aaron Ramsey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. This indicates that Emery has a lot planned for Ramsey for next season, but obviously, that would be made ten times easier if he signed the contract.
"With the trust that Emery and the Arsenal board are installing into Ramsey, it’s a mystery why he is so hesitant with signing it. Most of the Gunners faithful are begging him on social media to put pen to paper, showing he is a real fan favourite.
Since the 13/14 season, Aaron Ramsey averages atleast a goal or assist every 2 games from midfield. Also important to mention he's played some matches on the right flank which is not even his natural position. Insane numbers, insane talent. Club Legend. "Ramsey thrives when the system he is playing under vacates around him. This was the case at EURO 2016, as well as a few notable seasons under Arsene Wenger. Obviously, Emery isn’t going to make players follow Ramsey’s every command, but he’s very clever in a sense of getting the best out of each and every player. There are obviously endless reasons why Arsenal mustn’t sell Ramsey, but here is the last of my three…"
3. Selling Ramsey will make Arsenal's situation in midfield even worse
"Arsenal have always had problems with their midfield, it seems to have been a recurring problem over the last few years. However, they finally have a strong midfield, providing both balance and depth. Ramsey’s departure could prove costly to both of those assets. With Granit Xhaka dictating the play in midfield, and new signing Lucas Torreira providing defensive cover to the back four, this leaves Ramsey with the license to move forward. It’s in these areas which the Welshman excels the most.
Remember when Gerrard wanted to leave Liverpool so their fans sent him death threats to make him stay? We should threaten to kill lots of rhinos to make Ramsey sign a new contract.— Paddy (@VieiraPaddy) August 2, 2018
"For too long, people have been criticizing Ramsey, and all because he’s been asked to carry out a role which doesn’t suit him. Take Liverpool away last season, Ramsey was criticized for not defending, even though he has no defensive instinct. This is why staying at Arsenal through this exciting time could bring out the best in him, even better than we’ve seen in recent history. Fans are excited for what’s ahead, and with Ramsey involved, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be."
Do we need to sell Ramsey?
