Arsenal hero Charlie Nicholas on Sarri: 'I thought Arsenal would have been in for him'
- The ex-Gunner is surprised Arsenal didn't try to hire the newly-minted Chelsea manager
- The Italian's tactical approach would fit the north London club
“This coach has been floating about for a few seasons,” Nicholas said of Sarri on Sky Sports.
“Everybody has been pretty interested to see what he’d eventually do.
“I thought Arsenal would have been in for him too but I don’t know if negotiations went on.”
“He likes the pressing game, Napoli improved vastly when he was there,” Nicholas added.
“I think players who can pass a ball, with pace, first time, one touch, two touch, and get the thing going at a good pace, he likes that. That’s what he’ll work on.”
