Bacary Sagna names reason why he left Arsenal to join City: 'I think the players got a bit too comfortable'
- Our former defender states that Arsenal players back in 2014 lost their drive
After spending 7 years at Arsenal he moved to Etihad as a free agent in 2014. Bacary explains his decision:
“I think the players got a bit too comfortable. That’s the reason I left Arsenal, because I needed to come out of that comfort zone, to improve and stay at a high level.
“At some stage you have to come out of your comfort zone to keep going forward. If you stop doing it or you feel too comfy and every day is the same, at the end of the day you are the one losing everything.
“The club is in London, has great facilities and a great stadium. As I said before you can’t always be at the top, but on the pitch you have to show more desire.”
