A match to forget for Ozil and 4 more Gunners to improve after City loss: ratings
TalkSPORT's Sean O'Brien rates most of our players really low. However, some of the Gunners were unexpectedly poor, according to him.
Shkodran Mustafi – 4/10
"A defender to strike fear into a fan’s heart. Horribly exposed against this City attack – rarely had a clue where Sterling and Sergio Aguero were. There were no glaring mistakes but he looked nervy throughout."
Matteo Guendouzi – 4/10
"He is only 19 and this was not the fixture to deputise in. Arsenal’s summer signing allowed Sterling to breeze past him for the first goal and it was his mistake which saw Aguero bearing down on goal in the second-half. Guendouzi wasn’t helped by his midfield partner Granit Xhaka and there were signs of real potential, but this was still an afternoon to forget."
Granit Xhaka – 3/10
"Arsenal couldn’t be more desperate for Lucas Torreira – the Emirates faithful cheered when Xhaka was removed from the action. He was days off the pace in midfield."
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 3/10
"Ineffective. Poor in the final third, indecisive and often out-muscled. He didn’t make up for it with his defensive work, either."
Mesut Ozil – 3/10
"Ozil didn’t go missing in this game, but he was uncharacteristically terrible in possession. So many passes failed to find a team-mate and his decision-making let him down."
