Danny Welbeck won't appear until the end of the season after he broke his right ankle against Sporting Lisbon in November. However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel for Welbeck, as per Daily Mail. The striker was involved in gym work at Colney training ground.
The 28-year-old posted photos of himself performing stretches on social media. Prior to the start of the rehabilitation program, Welbeck underwent two operations on his foot.
His contract expires in the summer and the Daily Mail doubt whether Welbeck will feature under Unai Emery yet again but so far the player is concerned with his recovery more than anything else.
Before the injury, Welbeck scored 5 goals in 14 appearances this season but has never been a first-choice striker with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette being regular starters.
Overall since joining the Gunners in 2014, Welbeck has netted 32 times in 126 outings.
