Henry or Aguero? Newcastle legend Shearer chooses best ever Prem striker
- The ex-striker says he admires both forwards.
- However, Alan chooses Aguero 'on his finishing ability' over Henry.
The 30-year-old has secured his 11th hat-trick in the Premier League, contributing to a 6-0 Chelsea debacle. Arsenal earlier suffered from Sergio's attacking prowess as he netted all 3 goals in the recent game at Etihad [3-1]. The Argentine is now the joint-best striker in Prem era, equaling Shearer's record.
"They're two of the best foreign players we've had, certainly forwards, and you can chuck Didier Drogba in as well," Shearer told, speaking on Match of the Day 2. "These two are giants of our game. Who's the better player? They're different. Thierry is different coming from the left hand side and the right hand side, Aguero is more of a centre forward.
"Both great players but i know you're going to ask me to choose one so I'm going to choose Aguero on his finishing ability. I'm a huge fan of his. I said years ago he was world class and he keeps producing year after year.
"It's a surprise, last year was the only time he was in the PFA Team of the Year which I find staggering."
Aguero could soon overtake Henry's scoring tally set at 175 goals. The City striker has netted 160 goals in the Premier League.
