Cech: 'My dream is to retire with a trophy in my hands'
- Arsenal defeated Rennes 3-0 at the Emirates to progress to the quarter-finals.
- The veteran goalkeeper admitted that it would be fantastic to end his career on a high.
In his post-match interview, Petr Cech stated that it would be great if Arsenal could win the Europa League this season. Not only would the club ensure a Champions League spot for next season, but it would mean the keeper can wrap up his career on a high note.
Brilliant save from Cech. Definitely think it flies under the radar how solid he has been when he has played this season. Also shows just how well Leno is performing. Let's hope we see more of him in final weeks.— James Benge (@jamesbenge) March 14, 2019
"My dream goes on - my dream is to retire with a trophy in my hands. Today we gave ourselves the chance for me to finish like this. There’s a long way to go but with performances like that, we can compete."
Cech has been a mainstay in the cup competitions and it is likely he will feature in the final instead of Bernd Leno if Arsenal make it that far.

The 36-year-old has featured in 17 games this season, keeping seven clean sheets.
