Arsenal women announce Jill Roord as new signing
- The midfielder has moved from Bayern Munich to become a Gunner.
- The 22-year-old has Champions League experience under her belt.
- She's proud to become part of the Arsenal football club.
The 22-year-old spent two years at Bayern Munich. Before signing for Frauen-Bundesliga outfit she developed her talent at FC Twente where the midfielder started her career.
Roord scored 12 goals in 36 appearances for the German club. She helped Bayern secure the semi-finals of the Champions League this season.
The Dutchwoman was part of the 2017 UEFA Women's Euro winning squad. The 22-year-old played alongside current Gunners Danielle van de Donk and Vivianne Miedema.
“I’m really proud that I’m going to be an Arsenal player,” she told Arsenal.com. “Arsenal is one of the clubs in England that I really like. In women’s football, they’ve always been one of the top clubs. Of course there are some Dutch friends of mine who play there, so I’ve always followed them. I’m really looking forward to it.”
