Xhaka after gifting Portugal a goal: 'There is not much you can do' against Ronaldo
- Yesterday, Switzerland faced Portugal in the semi-finals of the Nations League.
- Xhaka captained his team as they lost 3-1.
- The midfielder made a horrible mistake to set up Portugal's last goal.
- After the game, the 26-year-old admitted that Ronaldo is on another level to everybody but didn't acknowledge his own error.
Yesterday the Nations League Finals kicked off with the semi-final match between hosts Portugal and Xhaka's Switzerland.
Over the years, we have come to know the midfielder as someone who provides stability to the centre of the field but also as an error-prone player. Xhaka has yet again let down his teammates when he simply lost the ball in midfield and gave it away to Portugal, setting them up for their third goal.
The worst part is that there was not even much pressure on the 26-year-old when he gave away possession. He is simply error-prone.
Moreover, after the match, Xhaka took to his Instagram to acknowledge that Switzerland just couldn't handle Cristiano Ronaldo but didn't mention his obvious mistake.
"Really proud of our performance and the progress we are making. Sometimes there is not much you can do when Ronaldo scores such a special Hattrick."
Is the midfielder too error-prone for Arsenal? Or is this just a one-time slip-up?
