Ex-Arsenal Women Alex Scott: Vivianne Miedema will be a crucial player for the Gunners to retain the title
- Alex piles praise on the striker for her impact on Arsenal.
- She believes Miedema has immense potential for growth.
“I played with Viv in my last season and obviously saw her at the World Cup as well, and she’s still so young!” Scott said to the club's official website.
“She’s got so many years ahead of her and she’s got so much more she can give. The goals she’s scoring and her performances week in, week out… wow. Arsenal need her.
“I’m not part of the squad anymore, but once a Gooner, always a Gooner. I’ve been going to the games and supporting them because I always will, but for me from last year winning that trophy, now it’s about retaining it and they’ve started really strong. I believe they can do it again.”
Vivianne Miedema received a Player of the Year award last season. She scored 22 goals in 19 appearances. The 22-year-old was part of the Netherlands team at the World Cup. They finished the competition as runners-up losing the final to the USA.
