Man United snubbed Martinelli four times
- Gabriel Martinelli has been on four trials with Manchester United.
- However, the Red Devils decided not to sign him.
- So he joined the Gunners in the summer - and he is one of the brightest talents at the Emirates right now!
Our rising star Gabriel Martinelli has attracted a lot of media attention with his impressive performances. It is reported by the Athletic that the striker had four separate trials with Manchester United.
The Brazilian trained with the Red Devils U18 for the first time in 2015. He was 14 at that time. The last occasion was in 2017 and the striker even played for United U18 against Lincoln City.

The Red Devils decided against signing him on all four occasions. Given Martinelli's impressive goal-scoring form at Arsenal, they are probably kicking themselves now.
Meanwhile, Martinelli's form with the Gunners earned him an international debut. The 18-year-old was called up by Brazil Under-23 side and played his first game against the United States U23 on Friday.
Talking about the Brazilian in October, Rob Holding described him as a hard-working attacker who never stops. He said: "In training every day, he works hard. He puts you under pressure constantly and never stops running, which as a centre-half is a nightmare. You want a striker that will sort of give up on you, but he never gives up."
