Thierry Henry could have become Barcelona manager
- Back in February, Barca met with the Gunners' legend and former Blaugrana player over the possibility of hiring him.
- Henry's lack of experience and Valverde renewing his contract stopped him from being appointed.
- The Frenchman is now in charge of Montreal Impact.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona considered Thierry Henry as one of the potential candidates in case Ernesto Valverde didn't renew his contract. The source claims that the Catalans met with the Frenchman to discuss his coaching ideas.
Blaugrana reportedly saw the former Arsenal striker as a strong candidate because of his three-year spell at Camp Nou. Furthermore, the club had the idea of appointing ex-Barca defender Gabriel Milito as Henry's assistant coach.
In the end, the former forward wasn't appointed for two reasons. Firstly, Ernesto Valverde renewed his contract. And secondly, Henry's CV wasn't the best. Thierry only worked as an assistant at the Belgium national side and was fired from Monaco after just 19 games.
