David Ornstein explains why decision to loan out Nketiah was delayed
- Ornstein admits he was wrong in his prediction for the timing of Nketiah's next loan move.
- The striker was expected to depart on another temporary spell last week.
- It turns out Mikel Arteta intervened in the situation as the boss wanted to have a closer look at the 20-year-old.
“This is quite embarrassing because I said to you on the podcast last week that [the Eddie Nketiah loan] was imminent, but these things change,” David Ornstein said on The Ornstein and Chapman podcast.
“Arteta likes him and wanted to make a proper decision. A considered decision at this crucial time of his development.”
Eddie Nketiah's loan spell at Leeds was cut short as the striker was never the first-choice option for Marcelo Bielsa. His playing time was reduced to short cameos from the bench. The striker has now plenty of options to consider.
