Gazzetta dello Sport: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang emerges as summer target for Inter Milan
- Our striker will be a number 1 target for the Serie A side should they lose Lautaro Martinez.
- Auba has less than 18 months left on his deal with Arsenal.
- The Gabonese is stalling on a new contract.
According to respected Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan have identified Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a potential replacement for Lautaro Martinez. The report says he'll be a prime target for the Serie A club if they lose the Argentine in the summer.
The latter, in turn, is linked with a summer move to Barcelona who are looking for a new striker in the coming window.
The Catalans are reportedly ready to trigger a £92.3m release clause inserted in his deal. The 22-year-old has netted 17 times in 28 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
Interestingly, Aubameyang remains a target for the Spanish superclub as well as their sporting director Eric Abidal confirmed after a failed winter pursuit.
Meanwhile, the Gunner's future is still up in the air. His present contract runs until the summer of 2021. The north Londoners have failed to tie him down to a new long-term deal yet.
According to reports, the Gabonese dreams to play in the Champions League. If Arsenal fail to finish in the top 4 or win the Europa League, the 30-year-old is likely to seek the summer exit.
Auba has scored 16 goals in all competitions so far this term.
