Tipico extends agreement Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2
German bookmaker Tipico has extended its sponsorship agreement with the top two football leagues in the nation.
Under the conditions of the extension, the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga will continue to have Germany's biggest sports betting company as an official partner.
Tipico has been a DFL partner since 2018, and the extension, which runs until the end of the 2028–2029 season, brings the agreement to a decade-long total.
With a new federal framework going into force in 2021, the partnership has had to traverse some challenging regulatory periods for betting in Germany.
Regulations in Germany have mainly left marketing and sponsorship alone, with tax increases and limitations on casino items like slots and poker having a greater effect on operators. But for a while now, several fan advocacy organizations have been demanding a ban.
Tipico will continue to utilize the branding and championship trophies of the top two divisions in their marketing efforts with the Bundesliga going ahead, in addition to advertising rights on digital platforms and in media contracts.
