The current pandemic plaguing the world has forced me into objective introspection where the game of football is concerned. In times of peace - which is to say in the days when our biggest concern was where we would be watching the next game or what we would be eating for dinner - we create these indelible battle lines seemingly drawn in blood, with the logos of our favorite teams brandished proudly on our kits like sigils or banners of the Houses in Game of Thrones- FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, PSG, FC Bayern... and on and on the list of the Great houses go. We trolled each other on social media, roared in times of the rival's defeat, and wept or sulked like children during the agonies of our team's defeat.
I come from a family of five boys, six, if you count my brother in law, who replaces the one of the five boys who - gasp! - isn't in to football or soccer, or whatever we call it. I am a Blaugrana through and through; my sigil will always bear FC Barcelona. Yet in the same house, there is a Chelsea fan, Man U fan, Arsenal fan, and now my son who, despite my ardent efforts, insists on the Ronaldo celebration whenever he scores a goal. So what is my point? We drew blood in peace time from one another; attacked our Houses and banners with unabashed hatred, even as we defended our teams like they were children born from our loins. We did this in peace time. This pandemic has declared war on our lives and our way of living, and seems determined to altar it forever. But we will not cower or be broken by its will; we share a common enemy now, just like the great Houses in Game of Thrones battled a common enemy in the White Walkers. They defeated the dead by putting their differences aside and working together; likewise we must come together to defeat this death. Thus in the spirit of commiseration, I, a culé, a long standing, never changing FC Barcelona banner carrier, celebrate my peace-time foes as friends- Ronaldo, Messi will always be the greatest, but my, do I miss the competition and lethal killer instincts you brought to every Classico while you were here; it was like watching a lion take on a tiger during those historic games, and win or lose, you always made the rivalry a gem. You are a man driven by the demons of your own greatness, and you work hard under their flagellation. However great human endeavor may take one though, divine unction and will always prevails and takes one farther; and it is for this reason and only this, that Messi will always triumph over you. Just not been the same since you left la liga, I confess. Real Madrid, thank you for making the season competitive and keeping us on our toes in the standings. Here's to your victory at the end of the season, for securing and finishing fastidiously in the second place. To Man City- Pep, I will only ever have love in my heart for you; no matter how far you are, nobody ever gets over their first love. You were that coach for me at Barça. I wish you and Man City great success for however long you remain there, but make no mistake, I am glad we no longer have to face you in the Champions League. It would have been too painful drawing arms against a beloved. O, Great light bringer, FC Liverpool, towering over your peers at the EPL like Mag the giant from GoT. Have to hand it to Klopp, he has outcoached practically every coach in every league. You guys are clearly a juggernaut of a team, and the belief and spirit you share rightly humiliated my beloved, ill prepared Barça, not too long ago. But old wounds are forgotten; all is forgiven. The EPL is already yours, as you can literally sleep walk to the finish line. Congratulations to Liverpool; it's been a long time coming. Thank you Diego Simeone for personally handing them our official congratulatory letter; if only for that, you will be my brother in arms... for a while. Finally to PSG, you waltz through the league like an eighteen year old bully playing amongst children. I have never really liked you, but I've grown to dislike you so much more ever since you wooed our beloved Prince from us a few years ago, with money, pomp, pride and empty promises. That one hurt. That one still hurts. But it wasn't your fault, I only have us to blame for our own loss, and the naive, adulterous heart of our own son. But a son will always be a son. Congratulations to you for your resounding comeback against the wrecking crew of Dortmund. You are in the quarters for the first time in a long time. You have all the pieces to make it all the way, and so I hope you do, with only Barça standing in your way at the finish line, to remove your heart as we did during the remontada and to leave rejoicing with our prodigal son back at last in our arms in the summer.
Here's to football, to all the great players who have entertained us week in and week out, to the great rivalries we have shared and the the greater one to come; and more importantly, to the great fans who make this the greatest sport in the world bar none. And here is to all the medical workers and enforcement agencies working tirelessly to defeat this feckless parasite. May we defeat this White Walker together. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay in doors.

A blog is a platform where you write and share YOUR views on an individual subject. NOT go around and copy/paste someone else work 🤦🏽♂️
It was MY WORK. I accidentally posted it on someone else's handle, if you notice I ended both postings Soccerates, which is my handle, if you cared to read it. I even emailed the admin to delete the first one erroneously posted on someone else's handle. Not sure how the hell it happened. But I wrote it. It is no bloody copy and paste.
The same post on 2 different account. So you see why anybody will think like it’s a copy/paste
Kromah Musa,I get it, bro. I don't know how the first one happened. I created from the post announcing the blogs. Maybe that's why. But I immediately emailed admin about the error, and they never rook the other one down. But like I said, if you check both, they are signed, Your friend, Soccerates. So you know it's my write-up. No worries though. I doubt I will be winning a Pulitzer for this. But I just needed to set the record straight. I'm the author of the works, not a plagiarist.
I feel you fam 🤝
