Easter is the right time to give presents and talk about summer transfers.
Hi Reds, as a loyal fan of the LFC, I am thinking about squad politics at the right time - and now the time has come.
I'm actually a big fan of Konstanz and I think it's good that we started the new season without any major newcomers. But in retrospect, it was a mistake that shouldn't be made again. The team did an outstanding job last season and the players absolutely deserved that they continued to rely on them. But there must be new stimuli in the team and people who demand a regular place. Especially after the longed-for league title was achieved. This led to a saturation and a feel-good atmosphere and the tension in the team is no longer so high. I think it would do the LFC very well to bring a breath of fresh air to the team and strengthen it broadly. Of course, some players would have to leave us, others could be loaned out.
The race for the Easter eggs and the Golden egg!
Let's start with central defense.
Niklas Suele, FCB; Nikola Milenkovic, AC Florence; David Carmo, Braga FC Young dynamic players with experience of league, CL and national games. They would be able to fully complement VVD and the injury-prone Gomez. In addition, you could give Van Dijk and Gomez breaks without worries. How well Matip comes back is always open. He and Gomez are always at risk of injury. For this reason I wouldn't buy Konate, RBL either. He has only played 100 games for RBL in five years due to injuries.
Sales: Gomez, Matip, B. Davies, Nat Phillips, Kostas Tsimikas, Rhys Williams
Central midfield:
If Gini wants to leave us, we shouldn't put any obstacles in his way. Millner isn't exactly a replacement for him, and Ox isn't good enough either. That's why I wanted a new midfielder. Besides Fab and Thiago, who are seeded for me in the new season, there are a few interesting players. Houssem Aouar, Olympique Lyon; Rodrigo Betancur, Juventus Turin; Yves Bissouma, BHA;
My favorite: Youri Tielemans, The Foxes; Youri was known as a veteran of European football at the age of 19. While other players were just beginning to get a taste of the professional world at his age, he had already played 173 competitive games for RSC Anderlecht. While he was used as a six at the beginning of his career, he grew into a more offensive role. Nothing changed about that. He is the complete footballer in midfield headquarters. With his left and right foot, Tielemans brings passes to the man from a great distance, has excellent technique, an excellent understanding of the game, can play the final pass and scores goals himself. Many of them with long-range shots that are worth seeing. He could become the new “De Bryune”.
Sales: Millner, Ox - Gini (freely available)
Offensive:
Hmm, difficult decision. In my opinion, a fast dribbling winger would fit best. A few candidates to choose from: Lucas Ocampos, Sevilla FC; Noni Madueke, PSV Eindhoven; Donyell Malen, PSV Eindhoven; Amine Gouiri, OGC Nice. Everyone is a great winger and everyone is still young enough to help shape a renovation over the years.
Lucas Ocampos has played for Sevilla FC since July 2019. He previously played for River Plate, AS Monaco, Olympique Marseille, Genoa CFC and AC Milan. Last season he recorded 17 goals and five assists in 44 appearances. The creative winger has played seven times for the Argentine national team to date. Ocampos even toying with us publicly.
Sales: Shaq, Origi
The Golden Egg !?
Mbappe, PSG; Erling Haaland, BVB or Jadon Sancho, BVB?Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland are two of the young stars who have already stepped out of the shadows of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Both are strong but different. Haaland is more of a goalscorer than Mbappe, but Kylian will be the best in the world in two or three years. Sancho isn't that much in the spotlight. He's more of a team player - dangerous for goals, always keeping an eye out for his teammates with an unbelievable assist rate. No less valuable in my eyes.
Mbappe is an "exceptional talent in every respect: He can dribble, is fast, has strength and quality. World champion Mbappé is France's footballer of the years 2018 and 2019. In the past two seasons of Ligue 1 he has won the top scorer and is currently in the rankings Again at the top with 20 goals, plus four championship titles, one with AS Monaco and three with PSG, as well as two cup wins - an absolute candidate for us.
Erling Haaland is a great player at a spectacular level. He has an admirable physique, is one of the best nines in the world and will shape an era. The Dortmund striker is "a machine" and always gives 100 percent. In my opinion, Haaland is not suitable for us unless we completely turn the offensive inside out.
Jadon Sancho - The Daily Mail calls him "the most exciting promise in European football" and the Guardian sees him as "a street footballer with the potential to be England's new Neymar". He made the most shots on goal at BVB last season (51) and prepared the most (77). He was one of the most dribbling players in the Bundesliga and preferred to override the opposing defensive rows with a one-two (53 - league-wide top mark). He would also strengthen us enormously.
Sale: Salah
Can we afford one of them? What do you think - would a transfer be realistic? Well, one of our stars would have to leave us. I am thinking of Salah. What bothers me about Salah at the moment is the attitude that I see in his game. He's too weak in combat and I don't like his cramped mentality when the game doesn't go as he wants. With Salah you can often tell after 10 minutes whether he will score today or not.
Salah is more of a "Messi" type - ingenious, stubborn, dogged and cramped when it doesn't work out. Mané is of course a somewhat stubborn player, but always seems a little more relaxed on the pitch. He's also the player that all opposing teams fear.
Salah is the artist who complements the structure and can exude genius and Bobby is the only link between the two. That makes us awesome at times, but at times also easy to calculate.
Before a shit storm breaks out here. It's no secret that I'm not the biggest fan of Salah, but I won't deny his great class and the criticism from exceptional players like him is at a very high level. It is of course a very big building block for the successes of the recent past. I would only have liked to have replaced him with a younger, more team-friendly and slightly more successful winger.
It is also not hidden from anyone that Mo is not averse to accepting a new challenge at another big club. He has not publicly contradicted this up to now either.
The Fab Four
Gerry Cardinale, RedBird; John Henry, FSG; Billy Bean, MoneyBall; Jurgen Klopp, The Boss.
They are the financiers, advisors and doers. We are the fans. No club is bigger than its fans and supporters. We are now number 9 on the total list of social media fans: 49.1 million. 2nd place of the most valuable football teams worldwide after we lost 1st place due to Corona. 3rd place of the most successful clubs in Europe. One of the largest football fan bases in the world. We shouldn't gamble away these hard-earned successes. If we want to keep up with the best in the world, those responsible should take some money into their hands, otherwise we will end up in the Middle Ages again - that would be fatal. You all know how long it took to bring our success and reputation to where we are now - to the top of the world.
I don't want a lot of debt that could drive us into bankruptcy, but it should be a little more than fish and chips. What will the Fab4 pull out of their hat in the summer?
What do you think? - Golden egg, Easter eggs or fish & chips.
Write until your fingers bleed.

Mel great blog, but I believe any new signings will depend upon us finishing in the top 4 or we win the CL, personally I want us to get both. In summary if neither of these do not happen, the really massive signings in my opinion will be replaced with bargain basement signings 🤔🤔
Thanks Paul, I think if we don't get either, good people will still come to sign. It probably depends on whether we sell one of our front triangle. I'm curious. ⚽👋🤞

Honesty is a virtue, RFF. Either you stay true to yourself or you go with the flow - I can't swim. 😂🤣 Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it. I would also like Klopp to be able to convince the FSG when it comes to team renewal. It will be necessary. As for Salah, the rumors are shooting through the roof again. Thanks for your comment, mate. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
A GREAT blog Mel. I absolutely loved the way you categorized them. In a whole it is very big but didn't bore me when I read it. As usual your work amazed me. Now let's go to the content. I too am a kind of person who likes to bring the same team into the next season, but I definitely wasn't expecting us to start with three cbs and we all saw what it priced us with. Next season I want to have five cbs before the start of the league. Van Dijk and Gomez will still be in my list. Matip may have to be sold and I'd use the money on Kabak. Sule would be a great addition as Virgil's partner and I myself like Nat and I would still have him. Tielemans, he should be bought before his price rises or other teams snatch before we do. He has tasted european football but not trophies which we can give him. So I hope we land him soon. With the experienced Fab, Hendo, Thiago and youths Jones and Keita Tielemans can be the only mid we will have to bring in. In attack, it's going to be a huge business to sell Salah and bring either of the three. We know Salah have been showing hints that he could make a move out. I would miss him so much and his contributions. But on the positive side, we'll have money to buy one of the exiting talents who are much younger than Salah. So if Salah leaves I hope we make that kind of transfer. If not, if rather buy someone like Jota. Young and Cheap but enough to provide us from the bench and a potential of future starter. I'd love Daka as cf and Ocampos on wing. We don't know how much exactly Liverpool has to spend or how much they are planning to. So I'd like to not to spend much. Maybe around 200 million but we'd still make around a 100 million in sales. So that does the work. This is just my opinion and i loved your blog thoroughly. It was worth the wait and especially I like your tagline "write until your fingers bleed"
Thank you Steve for your detailed comment. Of course, my blog does not claim to be implemented. I didn't mention some of our lads because they shouldn't be sold. They could also be loaned out. I would keep Jota and Kabak too. Suele and Tielemans would be a real reinforcement and if the rumors that are being written about Salah again at the moment are true, then the signs are goodbye, mate. In the event of a sale, I would prefer Sancho as the successor. I could have written more, but the text no longer fit on my Nokia 🤣🤣🤣
