End of an era for some players at Chelsea
It was a long season coupled with a lot of ups and downs. Even more so, some players are definitely leaving now that we have come to the end of the season, and others with uncertain futures. It is going to be hectic for Chelsea Football Club. As Chelsea fans, we must all be aware that our dear club has been sanctioned by the UK Government since the beginning of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Being owned by a Russian oligarchy who according to information has close ties with the Russian President, our club was affected by sanctions. While many players' contracts with the club were in their last season, the club was unable to renew them and we are talking of players like Rudiger who has reportedly signed with Real Madrid and just waiting for an official announcement. Christensen is another who is also heading out to Barcelona and an official announcement is still pending.
Then, we also have many other players like Captain Azpilicueta whose contract was expiring this season but was extended for another year and Marcos Alonso is all reportedly wanted by Barcelona. They are all likely to go and that will leave us with a big hole to fill at the back. I do not know if we will find great defenders by the time our sanctions are lifted. Regardless of the reasons for their exits, they have all helped bring success to the club over the past years and we can only thank them for their services. However, losing a player of Rudiger's calibre in defence brings worries and we can only hope that our new owners will do the needful to replace him and many others for squad depths. The other option will be to look at our academy players. Meanwhile, we have a huge problem. The big teams will buy all the quality players while we are still waiting for the sanctions to be uplifted and that is when the new owners take over the club and we do not know when all this will happen. Fingers crossed though it is very soon! I will give an example of Man City which has done an excellent job of business already by buying Halland. The longer the saga takes, that is how we will be left out. Nonetheless, we can be thankful that, with all our problems throughout the season ranging from Covid-19 cases, injuries and sanctions, at least we have secured the Champions League spot by finishing the season in third. I hope that will motivate some quality players to join us when the sanctions are over. All in all, it feels like the end of an era at Chelsea. Goodbye to all those who will leave after the season is over and have a chance to say it now because of the circumstances.

That's correct.
Obsolutely correct.. Lets move on... A new season and new Era.. Boehly's Era.. New but still the Pride of London.. stronger and better..
Thank you guys for your service to Chelsea FC. Quick one Keep Azi for another season, transition period. So maybe give him 2 years deal to match other offers on the market
Good idea. If the board decides to let him go, they should buy a replacement first. By the time our sanctions are over, good defenders will be gone to other teams then.
