'It's not normal': Thierry Henry recalls Lionel Messi goal that 'defied logic'
Thierry Henry was a brilliant footballer during his career, one who was just technical as he was clinical.
So when you hear him speaking about a goalscorer like someone from another planet, wondering how he put the ball into the net, you are onto something special.
Who else to woo Henry than the greatest modern player, Lionel Messi? Here's the Frenchman talking about his goal vs Malaga in 2009.
"The best goal I've seen him score was against Malaga at home because that defied logic what he did," Henry told 'Take the Ball, Pass the Ball'.
"Diagonal ball, he controls it on his chest, runs full speed. First player goes, second player is just behind. He takes another step, that player can clear the ball.
"If he's got the ball on his left foot here, how do you go back with that same leg and touch the ball in the air, in between the two to make sure that guy doesn't touch it -- and then almost fail but smash it into the top corner. That's not normal."
Of course this post would be incomplete without the goal itself. So here you go.
Would you call it the greatest goal scored by the Argentine? Or does another strike tickle your fancy?
