I'm okay with Semedo leaving: 3 reasons why you should think the same
I've seen a bunch of fans angry about the possibility of Nelson Semedo leaving Camp Nou.
Rumour has it that he might be included in a deal for Lautaro Martinez. This is totally worth it, I say.
In fact, I think that there are 3 good reasons why Barca should offload him if a decent bid arrives.
1. He is mediocre
Is Semedo among the top 3 best right-backs in the world right now? No.
Is he among the top 5? Also no.
Is he among the top 10? Yes, but this is not enough for Barca.
It's so easy to find full-backs that are better than him. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Daniel Carvajal, Kyle Walker, Joao Cancelo, Ricardo Pereira, Hector Bellerin and so on.
Even Sergi Roberto, who isn't a full-back at all, is doing a better job than the Portuguese.
Remember when Ernesto Valverde promissed that he would use Roberto in midfield so Nelson would become a regular starter? What was the result of it? The coach returned Sergi to RB because Semedo wasn't performing.
2. He is almost 27
The right-back will turn 27 already in November. This age is usually considered to be the peak of a player's career.
Has Semedo reached his peak? Or this in fact is his peak?
If he is at his best right now, the he should be offloaded. He is not worth it.
We have Emerson and Moussa Wague who are currently on loan. We have Roberto, who would be a decent option until we find someone younger.
Keeping the Portuguese means delaying one of our main problems - finding a good right-back.
3. He wanted to leave last summer so let him leave
Somehow everyone has forgot how Semedo wanted to leave last summer because he wasn't getting enough playing time.
What if another player did the same to us? What if that was Ousmane Dembele who was asking to leave? The fans would go mad about him and would hate him for the rest of his existence.
But no, Semedo is somehow special.
Atletico Madrid are said to have offered 40 million euros and we should have accepted that offer without a second thought.
But the Catalans rejected the bid because they believed in him despite his unimpressive performances at Camp Nou.
It's no coincidence that Valverde promissed to give Semedo more time last summer, they wanted to keep him. Unfortunately for us, Nelson failed to deliver.
Include him in a swap deal, sell him if you want, I don't think that Semedo is worth having in the squad.

Overall good Facts but we can’t just have replacements for him we have certain Targets and get a New RB is not one as he is doing pretty well and also Bellerin Is Worse then semedo he is On par with below average.
Harsh but fair in my opinion.
I think you underestimate him. I watched him playing since 2017/2018 season. First year Roberto was much better than him, just like the next season. His form was picking up especially this season and made the right wing better. He is fast, agressive, able to defend and attack and decent in passing. I wouldn't say he is the best option for us, but Barca can rely on him. Also if a good offer arrives he can be sold/exchanged but it might be a mistake
