United v Granada .....the sequel
Still reveling in the glory of our recent best performance of the season against Spurs i look towards Thursdays home tie against Granada with excitement faith and optimism.
In all seriousness going on the showing in the reverse fixture Granada with all due respect have very little to worry us with, but after all said and done its 11 v 11. Much will depend on our mind set regardless of who's available and selected.
Surely our troops will have the burning desire to progress so should finish this tie off with some ease, a 2 away goal advantage is a strong lead against a team who may have some fight in them but ultimately shouldn't stand a chance against a rampant utd.
There's no reason to change from our seemingly favoured 4,2,3,1 formation. Selection wise im going thus.
GK: Degea to keep his European slot
DEF: AWB, TUANZEBE, LINDLEOF, TELLES. an enforced change to our customary back four but all of them more than capable.
MID: FRED, VdB. Fred will be without his usual wingman but it affords a possible rare start for VdB, Ole may go for Matic but given our lead i'd give VdB the chance he deserves.
ATTK: POGBA, BRUNO, RASHFORD and CAVANI. The later two may not have a full 90 in them but Ole will want to ensure the jobs done before any tinkering gets done.
We could well see cameos from the likes of Elanga, Diallo, and Shoretire. And would certainly expect to see Greenwood at his lethal beat at some point.
To summarise then, more than enough to get the job done and I'm going 3-0 and progression for United.

Lovely blog as always, Chris! Cavani could be massive if he can capitalise off the form we saw against Spurs. I wouldn't mind Rashy getting some rest though, the man's been playing non-stop through injury and it's concerning now... 3-0 sounds like an achievable target but I'm just a tad worried because anytime we do well this season, we go into the next game like a completely different team. We have a two-goal lead so I hope that doesn't happen this time. I think I will go for a 1-0 win to United
Thanks pleased you liked it, I agree with your thoughts on Cavani, and Rashi deserves his rest but he'll want to be playing i think
I think the match will be quite physical.. which is why Fred and VdB might not be be the way forward.. Matic might be a better solution as CDM and therefore allowing either Fred or VdB a bit higher up as central midfielders.. I would also rest rashford and bring him on later during the match if needed, thus playing Greenwood from the start.. Otherwise very good read mate! Cheers!
thanks for that mate think you have some valid points
I like to see Matic & Scotty in this game. And allow Pogba playing further up, relinguishing him of defensive duties.
