What Could Have Been...
Good Evening from Toronto Barcelona Fans,
I'm pretty sure we're all disappointed. Maybe some of us in Koeman, maybe some of us in the players, maybe some of us at the ref, but the important thing is we all know the club has problems. If I think it's the players and not the coach, that doesn't mean I'm necessarily right, but we fans all have something in common: We're all disappointed. Clearly, last night was shambolic, and here I am to add on that.
I was reading an article the other day on CBC, Goal, Sportsbible, etc. where one of Barcelona's top scouts, Hristo Stoichkov, told then Barcelona President Josep Bartomeu about Alphonso Davies about a month before Bayern Munich started scouting him. Bartomeu's response was "He's Canadian, no thanks."
He's Canadian, no thanks.
No thanks.... think about those words. In a world where we are trying to eliminate the elements of racism and discrimination, he says something like that. He is Canadian. What on Earth is that supposed to mean.
One month later, Bayern Munich, snapped Davies up for about $20 million! Just a reminder, we signed Junior Firpo for $32 million! (30 million euros) Not to say Firpo is bad, but he's no where at the level of Alphonso Davies. God bless the kid, he has a good heart, and he will continue to rise. Let those who are evil, perish for ever supporting the use of such a disgusting and despicable act.

That is why Bartomeu is out, his choices were terrible. Also, unfortunately over here in the North American continent we are not known for the development of great players, but like any other thing that concept is changing because kids like Alphonso davis, serginio dest, McKennie, pulisic, and more are changing what our game in the USA and Canada look like, we got a lot to still go for, but I am sure proud we are getting better and are becoming an essential part of some of the greatest teams in the futbol world.
Well said coach 🙌🏼
Would be fantastic to see both Davies and Dest on the wings. Sadly, the club have no idea about who will replace Jordi Alba in the long term.
Yea, hopefully we can find someone very pacey.
Jordi Alba has cost us a lot... junior Firpo isn’t in Barca class... suppose he came back when Barca was still hot he wouldn’t have had any chance to play.. if you cannot move ball, take on player, do a good cross into the box 18 you can’t play in Barca even fans will boo you. Firpo can’t do any of this, he’s slow, cannot move ball or dribble who on earth signed him for Barca.... it’s a shame I remember he played 90 mins against Eibar where we played 1:1 he made no contribution on the night what a shame.
