Frimpong to Anfield? Probability ratings for Liverpool’s ins and outs

With the Premier League title secured under Arne Slot, Liverpool are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window to bolster their squad for the 2025/26 season.

As the transfer market opens on June 1, 2025, the Reds are linked with several high-profile signings.

Incoming Transfers

Milos Kerkez (Left-Back, Bournemouth)

Liverpool have identified the 21-year-old Hungarian as their top target to refresh the left-back position, with Andy Robertson aging and Kostas Tsimikas underperforming. Reports indicate Liverpool are strong favorites, with a minimum transfer fee of £40m.

Probability rating: 80%

Jeremie Frimpong (Right-Back, Bayer Leverkusen)

With Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure looming, Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign the 24-year-old Dutch right-back, known for his attacking prowess. His profile aligns with Slot’s system, and Liverpool are among clubs admiring him.

Probability rating: 75%

Dean Huijsen (Centre-Back, Bournemouth)

The 20-year-old Spanish defender is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar, with an offer supposedly made. However, Huijsen is also eyeing a move to Real Madrid, and Bournemouth are already looking for replacements.

Probability rating: 30%

Kevin De Bruyne (Midfielder, Manchester City)

Details: The 33-year-old Belgian, whose contract expires in July 2025, has been linked with a shock move to Liverpool. However, Napoli are leading the race, and Liverpool have distanced themselves from the rumours.

Probability rating: 5%

Viktor Gyokeres (Striker, Sporting CP)

Details: The Swedish striker is among contenders to lead Liverpool’s attack, alongside Benjamin Sesko and Victor Osimhen. His impressive goal-scoring record at Sporting makes him a prime target.

Probability rating: 40%.

Malick Fofana (Forward, Lyon)

The 20-year-old Belgian has caught Liverpool’s attention with five goals and four assists in Ligue 1. He’s also linked with Juventus and Arsenal, with his agent talking up a Premier League move.

Probability rating: 40%

Outgoing Transfers

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Right-Back, Real Madrid)

The 26-year-old’s move to Real Madrid is all but confirmed, with his contract expiring in June 2025. Liverpool are in negotiations for an early transfer, and Arne Slot has expressed disappointment at his exit.

Probability rating: 99.99%

Darwin Nunez (Striker, Atletico Madrid/Saudi Pro League)

Liverpool are open to letting Nunez leave, with interest from Atletico Madrid (loan with €40m-€45m obligation to buy) and Saudi clubs like Al-Hilal. River Plate also expressed interest but lack financial power.

Probability rating: 70%

Jarell Quansah (Centre-Back, Newcastle/German Clubs)

Details: The young defender’s departure is a “concrete possibility” amid interest from Newcastle and German clubs. Liverpool’s interest in other centre-backs like Huijsen or Jorrel Hato may facilitate this.

Probability rating: 50%

Harvey Elliott (Midfielder, Bournemouth/Wolves)

The 22-year-old Englishman has struggled for minutes under Slot, prompting interest from Bournemouth and Wolves. Paul Merson has suggested Liverpool could sell him.

Probability rating: 45%

Caoimhin Kelleher (Goalkeeper, Bournemouth/Celtic/Brentford)

The 27-year-old Irish goalkeeper is set to leave Liverpool to secure regular first-team football, having made 54 appearances (mostly in cup competitions) since 2019. Clubs like Bournemouth, Celtic, and Brentford are keen, with a transfer fee of £15m-£20m expected.
