🤑 How does money impact Real Madrid's results? We've added info on player and team salaries and transfer value to Tribuna.com apps on Android and iOS!
Who earns the most at the Bernabeu?
Real Madrid have had quite a challenging season – but they could still win the treble this campaign. Kylian Mbappe has finally adapted to his new club, scoring on so many occasions, including important ones – his stats can be seen here.
Interestingly, Kylian is only third by transfer value at Real Madrid – this info is now available to Tribuna.com users on Android and iOS! Complete money data is available to Premium subscribers (as well as many other things – including ad switch-off).
At the same time, the Frenchman ranks first when it comes to player salary – comfortably ahead of... David Alaba (of all people!) in second place.
Kylian's hefty salary ranks him second in La Liga and third in the world while the top spot is being occupied by 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski.
Vinicius Junior, who ranks third among Real Madrid's highest-paid players, costs the Whites almost €150k per game and €436.9k per goal – quite a lot for a player who has been underperforming this season, isn't it?
This data is also available to Premium users of Madrid Live. Even more advanced data for Europe's top 5 leagues and other championships is available in our Android and iOS apps. Download it – and recommend us to your friends!
Do Real Madrid spend too much on salaries?
The Whites' current salary expenses per year reach €273.8m – way more than even Barcelona's and Atletico Madrid's.
Real Madrid's total squad value is only behind Manchester City's in the world – the Whites, however, spend the most on salaries. Something to think about.
Despite having the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo on their team, Real Madrid spend more on midfielders than forwards; the least on defenders - which is often the problematic position - and goalkeepers.
21 out of Real Madrid's 33 players this season are foreigners – time to sign more Spaniards starting from this summer?
More interesting facts about the impact of money on the performance of Real Madrid and other big clubs can be seen in Tribuna.com's apps for Android and iOS.
Is it true that La Liga has been on a decline lately?
La Liga teams' total value is €5.3bn while their annual salary expenses are slightly above €1bn – that's two times less than what the English Premier League spends.
Look at those gaps between Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as between the top 3 and the other teams!
It's quite impressive that the title battle is still quite tight despite all these differences – and even Athletic Club are not too far away.
The situation is pretty much the same in Serie A.
In Italy, the most expensive club, Inter Milan, is valued at €663m, with an annual investment of €142m in player salaries. Napoli come in 5th place in this ranking with a €355m squad but with a very real chance for the title.
It's worth a mention that there are no Napoli players at all in the top-value and the top-salary rankings.
In the Premier League, the clubs have amassed a record €8.1bn worth of foreign players in their squads this season, with the total value of players at €11.8bn divided in the following way:
- Players aged under 23 - €2.6bn;
- Aged 24-33 - €7.6bn;
- Aged 34+ - €47m.
Nevertheless, not only the 'Big Six' clubs are responsible for it. The fact is that mid-table and even relegation-spot clubs sometimes spend more on wages than Nottingham Forest or Brighton.
