'I don't care?': Spurs manager Postecoglou loses temper and blasts reporter to bits after being compared to Man United
He feels there is an agenda against him.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou lost his temper and fired hotly at The Telegraph reporter Matt Law when his team was compared to Man United ahead of the Europa League final.
Here's what Law said to trigger Postecoglou.
"Manchester United have constantly said this competition won't save their season - managers have said it, players have said it. Would it save Tottenham's season, is it different for Tottenham?"
Postecoglou immediately got irritated and replied: "I don't care - why do I care what Man United think? Why is that relevant to me? Ask the Man United manager why he says that. Me, I've said all along that this is important.
Matt Law pressed by Big Ange by asking: "What does it mean for Tottenham's season then?
Postecoglou fired back at the journalist by asking: "You probably know better than me and probably followed this club longer than I have. What do you think a trophy would do for this club?
"Massive," Law replied.
"Exactly right, so the question answers itself,' Postecoglou retorted, now in a more neutral tone.
"But what's happening right now is that people are fearing that, that it actually might happen.
"Because it might happen they're thinking, "Let's see how we can tear it down somehow, diminish it somehow by saying it's been a poor season, we don't deserve this, we don't deserve that", or somehow comparing us to Man United.'
Here's a video clip of the tense moment.
Man United and Spurs are seated 15th and 16th in the Premier League standings.
What that means is, the only chance any of these clubs have of qualifying for the Champions League next season, or playing in Europe, is if they win the Europa League. Second place gets nothing!
