Conceded an early penalty by fouling a Legia player in the box. Nearly repeated the mistake in the second half but was spared by the referee. Unconvincing.
Cucurella - 8
Looks like Chelsea's talisman when things go wrong. Scored a tap-in to level the game and restore a three-goal cushion overall. That was valuable in the second half.
James - 5
Had no effect on the game, except for losing his marker for Legia's second goal. Maybe, he's not a midfielder, after all?
Sancho - 7
By far the brightest nominal forwards tonight. Provided a great assist for Cucurella's goal after beating his opponent.
Jackson - 4
As if he were not there. Touched the ball 11 times in the first half before being hooked off.

I don't understand how Boehly and his cronies can watch the crap we're playing, and listen to the excuses Maresca comes out with, and not realise he's absolutely inept and quite frankly the worst manager we've had in my 58yrs. Maresca has come to offer Chelsea nothing, he has make good players like gusto and many others worst I mean at least we saw the way the team was improving weekly under poch and poch knows his first eleven and even make many players better and almost make top 4 given the abysmal he met at the beginning of his Chelsea career. maresca is bang average championship coach he'll lose this conference league to betis Seville then the owners will know they make a big mistake sacking poch

There are two things you should consider under maresca: improvements and bigger squads. He made Cucu and others better than under Pochettino. He consistently benched cucu .
The club now has a bigger and deeper squad than under pochettino. He has to rotate those players sometimes. Those players were bought with huge sums of money to play for Chelsea, so he must use them.

Absolutely. The team has little to offer this season, and likely next season as well, unless many of the players are replaced. The coach needs to evaluate all the players' performances to identify who should be part of the starting lineup.
Moreover, if the coach continues into next season, he must adopt a new strategy. The current reverse formation isn’t effective, and I don’t believe it can succeed. Playing a player out of position always disrupts the team's stability.

The coach is so selfish and useless....playing James in the midfielder has been a disaster from day one, I just pray he did not kill James for us because this James am watching is so useless in the midfielder, the whole team is very dull and weak, no fast movement at all

What's going on with Cole Palmer? He can't even drible pass a single player anymore! Maresca has lost the dressing room, obviously because he is not able to motivate them on and off the field. Imagine Jackson getting on his cell phone after being hooked off the field after just 11 touches . Jogensen is a terrible goalkeeper! Look, I'm TIRED 😫
