Real Madrid lack of tactical plan against Arsenal shown in one pic
They were never going to win
Real Madrid promised their fans a historic Remontada in the game against Arsenal.
On the D-day, what Madridistas got was boring, aimless and tactless football that never really troubled Arsenal. At full-time, Real Madrid ended up losing again.
One picture from the game against Arsenal showed just how planless and clueless Madrid were on a night they needed to win.
With the game tied at 0-0 on the night and Madrid chasing at least an opening goal, Fede Valverde and Lucas Vazquez decided to do a ping-pong passing game between themselves.
Before you blame Vazquez and Valverde, look at the HUGE gap between them and the rest of their teammates.
There was no plan to build from the back, play intricate passes or create space.
The team just packed themselves in front of the Arsenal goal, hoping for crosses that were always easily defended.
Jude Bellingham and the other midfielders weren't dropping deep to pick up the ball and help in the buildup.
It was indeed horrible to watch.
Perhaps, this is why Carlo Ancelotti's job is on the line, with many critics calling for his immediate sacking.
