Spotted: Reece James careless in possession seconds before Fulham opener

Fulham scored the opening goal in the Premier League game against Chelsea after 20 minutes.

Alex Iwobi was the scorer, and he found the net with a great strike from the edge of the box.

However, the goal originated seconds earlier from a mistake by a Chelsea player — and not just any player but the captain.

Here, Reece James is jogging forward with the ball at his feet, oblivious to the fact that Ryan Sessegnon is closing in on him from behind.

So, James was taken aback as Sessegnon dispossessed him.

As Sessegnon prepared to find Iwobi in the middle, James was too far away to be an obstacle. Notably, Iwobi was also alone, as Enzo Fernandez was too slow to catch up with him.

The result was a well-worked goal for Fulham.

Thank you. The overhype for James is just too much. Sometimes, I look at him like, "What is so spectacular in him?" He is not anywhere better than other players on the team, if not even worse.

With Palmer playing like a warm-NA Till midfielders play like feeders we ain't getting goals Till Reece plays his rightful role we ain't going to be a threat - Till we start moving the ball fast and making runs we ain't winning matches We've got this style of play so predictable that allows the opposition to settle down Chelsea is doomed This ain't football this is holdup in traffic

Except for Neto, no one actually has any idea to attack. Make matter worst is having Jackson who will continue to miss all the given passes to convert to goals

Neto has not done anything. If I were to pick who has been our best attacker this half, I would say it's Noni. He has not done much, but he has tried, he can be the one to open things up. It's just that Jackson is not attacking the ball on crosses.

That’s what happens when you play injury prone James in mildfield. What happens to our mildfielders? Why playing players out of their possession, when we have the players fit to play in their preferred position? James lost the ball but refused to sprint back to challenge the opponent. I have stopped watching our matches before they will give me BP. Those guys don’t send this club. My advice for you, don’t kill yourself bcoz of Chelsea. Whether they loose or win, they still get paid hahaha! Until we have a demanding coach, this nonsense can never stop. Coaches like Conte will never tolerate this rubbish. I see reason why most of these average players really love the coach because he doesn’t criticize anyone who play rubbish on the pitch, unlike Mourinho and Conte

James is not only careless with the ball, James has been a disaster ever since he's playing in that midfielder, and the useless Coach leave him in midfielder instead of Cucu in supporting midfielder, someone that can get you a goal, The Coach is actually a confused man, he has succeed in making all of them a lazy and dull players without a brain to play, all of them playing I don't care game rubbish 🗑

How many times have football expects says that JAMES is not a midfield player? it's only average MARESCA who thinks he is doing something better. Everything shows that MARESCA has lost it. NO PARTEN OF PLAY, NO CLEAR CUT SYSTEM NOT AGGRESSION .......

me I still believe Chelsea will not win conference league under maresca an the way he used this young players + taking James out of his original position to play in a midfield if James was good in a midfield England national team could have used him in that position but they know James his to slow to play as a midfield but maresca always wants to prove something he doesn't not think of the interest of the Team maresca think of his own interests an that is to provid that he knows best which position is good to play this young players that is why ever Jackson his straggling to know his teammates running an to expect passes from them it's soo funny maresca don't see all this by changing James position an set up of other players position is very poor from maresca

Enzo was not slow anyway, he was just too far to meet up before the strike. Anyway, thankfully the 3 points came home

I've said it 2 hours ago, this team can't beat Fulham. Before Chelsea play champions league again, may be next 70 years, if they sold this team again and stopped buying babies boy and baby's managers.
