Why is Thierry Henry trending among Man United fans? Explained

Thierry Henry is trending among Manchester United fans, and it's not due to his impressive playing career or insightful analysis.

Instead, it's because of his criticism of young United defender Leny Yoro following the team's 4-1 defeat to Newcastle in April.

During his Sky Sports analysis, Henry questioned Yoro's reaction to conceding a goal, saying he had "never seen" a defender look at the linesman like that before.

Co-host Jamie Carragher chimed in, predicting the clip would become a meme.

However, Yoro has since bounced back, playing a crucial role in United's Europa League final run.

United fans, seemingly amused by Henry's criticism, have taken to social media to poke fun at the former Arsenal striker, dragging him for his comments.

It appears Henry's critique has backfired, with United fans rallying behind their young defender.

Let's all just calm down. Henry's criticism was fair. And Yoro's reaction to the criticism and the way he's improved has been brilliant to see as a United fan. Onwards and upwards.

No the criticism wasn't fair. Defenders always look at the linesman. He's not the first nor last one to do it.

Henry made a fool of himself that day and Sky Sports knew it when they scrubbed all traces of his segment from their site and the barrage of criticism he got from ex pros and fans was deserved. So, you want to tell us again how Henry's point was "fair".

Henry is a sick and biased legend. He wanted Yoro to be in Arsenal's shirt and not be a RED DEVIL.....truth be told

Today Yoro was very good. His ball control, calm demeanour and skills showed today and he keeps improving. He was close to Motm today

Henry was a fantastic player , a poor manager, and has now become a second rate analyst. How the mighty have fallen.

Henry's a sour KNOB, hates united, especially when Ronaldo came along and he was no longer the so called best
