35% of British gamblers spend over £100 monthly on online casino, reveals YouGov report
According to YouGov's Global Gambling Profiles, one in seven, or 16%, British gamblers report participating in online casino activities for money in the past month. As per the study, online slots rank among the top three most popular forms of gambling, behind only sports betting and lottery participation.
Online casino slots players exhibit higher average stakes compared to sports betting counterparts, with 35% of participants wagering over £100 monthly. Approximately one-tenth of these players commit more than £500 per month to gaming activities, outpacing sports bettors, where only 16% exceed the £100 monthly threshold.
Online casino players tend to have a significant number of middle-aged members compared to the other groups, with 48% falling within the 35-54 age range.
