Italian media: Rafinha could reportedly return to Inter
- The Nerazzurri consider the Brazilian to be their transfer priority should Modric move fail
- The Brazilian already spent some months at Inter on loan
- Barca boss Valverde is not certain whether Rafinha stays
- The Catalans ready to let the midfielder leave for €35m
According to SportItalia, Rafinha Alcantara could still return to Inter where he spent the second half of the 2017/2018 season. The news outlet claims the Milan-based club have identified Rafinha to be Luka Modric's alternative should this bold move fail to materialize.
Inter Milan have reportedly offered Real Madrid midfielder and World Cup finalist Luka Modric a €10million a year offer, however, the recent reports from both Diario AS and Marca insist the Croatian has been persuaded to reject this astronomical sum.
Inter have already missed out on Arturo Vidal pursuit as the Chilean has opted for the Barcelona move. The veteran midfielder was presented on Monday, having signed a three-year contract with an impressive €300m release clause included in the deal.
As for Rafinha, the Brazilian's Blaugrana future is yet to be resolved. He is no stranger to Inter as he spent the second half of the 2017/2018 season at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, having scored two goals and assisted three more, as per WhoScored.
Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is reported to be satisfied with the midfielder's performance; however, he is not sure whether he stays. He says, as quoted by club's official website: "Rafinha is having a good preseason and we'll see what happens in the end." Moreover, the Catalans are allegedly ready to sell the Brazilian for €35m, according to Sport.
The fans, however, would love to see Rafinha stay while their wish is backed by the latest stats.
If I had to chose between Rafinha and Denis I think I would go for Rafinha staying. Still remember how good he was under Enrique before his injury in Rome. Great times really.— D10S (@barcasister) August 6, 2018
