⚡ ⚡ ⚡ OFFICIAL: CONTE LEAVES CHELSEA
Chelsea have parted ways with Antonio Conte after reaching a compensation agreement for the final year of his contract, the club have confirmed.
The official statement reads: "Chelsea Football Club and Antonio Conte have parted company. During Antonio’s time at the club, we won our sixth league title and eighth FA Cup. In the title-winning season, the club set a then-record 30 wins in a 38-game Premier League season, as well as a club-record 13 consecutive league victories. We wish Antonio every success in his future career."
On the 12th of July, Antonio Conte leaves the Blues after 729 days in charge of Chelsea which is the second best result after Jose Mourinho and either of his spells. The Italian led Chelsea to the Premier League title in his first season in England in 2016-17 and also added the FA Cup trophy to the club's achievements last term. However, as it seems, Conte's relationship with the board has become incorrigible which might be the main reason for the decision.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are expected to announce Sarri's appointment. The ex-Napoli boss is supposed to join the club on an initial two-year contract. The move for the 59-year-old tactician also implies the signing of the Partenopei's midfielder Jorginho. The Blues are believed to pay a combined fee of €65 million (£57.5m).
