What changes will Sarri bring to Chelsea?
Sean Raymond writes on what Blue fans should expect during Sarri's reign at Chelsea, who is expected to sign a deal with Chelsea soon
"At times during the Sarri reign, Napoli played an almost mesmeric style of football which was just about the most attractive in Europe. A high energy passing style which was extremely easy on the eye and stars were made out of players who appeared to thrive under a coach who knew how to get the best out of his charges.
"Gonzalo Higuain was sold but not to worry, the emergence of Dries Mertens as a goal scoring false 9 was something not too many experts would have picked, Jorginho assumed the key role in midfield and looks set to follow Sarri to the Bridge, and Koulibaly made his name as one of the most feared defenders in Europe. Each of these three players, among others, thrived under the tutelage of Sarri and that will be fascinating for Chelsea fans heading into the new ere.
"The former Empoli boss is not known as a big spender which might fit with the slightly more modern Chelsea era of tighter spending. All managers at Chelsea know that trophies but sometimes even that isn't enough as some have found out to their cost but one thing we do know is that Sarri will do it his way, or the highway.
"Antonio Conte was popular amongst the faithful but even the staunchest of his fans would admit he brought a pragmatic approach to the role with a rock solid defence the basis for any success. Sarri will bring a better style of football but will he bring trophies?
"Time will tell."
