Maurizio Sarri post-City presser focuses on defensive issues & 'crazy' pre-season
- The boss was not much impressed with the second half
- He admits the pre-season was not what he'd normally imagine it
- Other than that, he remains calm about improvements
Maurizio Sarri pinpointed what was right & wrong during his post-match press conference: ''I think the first half [was] not too bad. In the second half, there was a big difference from a physical point of view. Our pre-season has been a bit crazy. We have to work.''
''In this moment there is a little difference, maybe not little, between us and City.''
3 weeks as a manager, key players aren’t back yet. City had pretty much a full strength side, can’t really complain about today as it was always going to happen.— Uber Chelsea FC ? (@UberCheIseaFC) August 5, 2018

Elaborating on defensive issues, he said: ''I want to talk about the defensive phase of the team, not just the defenders. We have to improve. We have to improve in the other half so that for the defenders it becomes a little bit easier.''
He added a few words about pressing: ''Sometimes we press in the right way, sometimes not. Today we were not in control of the match.''
Finally, speaking of his Wembley impressions, he said: ''It is beautiful. It is very emotional being here. The way I imagined it would be with a win, but other than that it is exactly as I imagined it.''
