Top Spanish media Marca evaluate ex-Real Madrid players Mateo Kovacic and Alvaro Morata at Chelsea
Marca writer Miguel Mayoral, as edited by Tribuna, looks into the careers of those players who left Real Madrid to settle at Chelsea.
The Croatian is a huge loss to Real Madrid. He arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium from Inter for 31 million euros in 2015 and emerged as one of the finest back-ups in the midfield. This summer he joined Chelsea on loan as he wanted more playing time. He has now featured 15 times for the Blues and mostly impressed, however, Kovacic is yet to return on his best.
The talented striker left Real Madrid back in 2014 as he reinvented his career at Juventus and knocked out his ex-club from the Champions League in the process. Madrid exercised a buy-back option, however, Morata's return wasn't successful as he didn't have enough playing time despite scoring 20 goals in his last season at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

Morata joined Chelsea for 80 million euros last summer but has been struggling immensely to settle in the new surroundings. He could only score 11 goals in the first 31 Premier League matches in his debut season at the Stamford Bridge stadium.
