Maurizio Sarri reveals number of players Chelsea need to sign in January
- The manager states The Blues need two new players in January.
- However, the Italian insists he can't tell which footballers he would like to see at Stamford Bridge.
- Nicolo Barella and Leandro Paredes are reportedly Chelsea's main transfer targets.
Maurizio Sarri has recently shed light on Chelsea's transfer plans this January. During his pre-Newcastle press conference The Blues' boss was asked about Gonzalo Higuain's possible move to Stamford Bridge. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus, the Argentinian's parent club want Chelsea to buy-out the 31-year-old forward in the summer if the clubs agree on loan this month.
The manager insisted he didn't know anything about the progress of the negotiations. However, he suggested The Blues need to sign two new players in the winter transfer window: "As you know very well I am not in control of the transfer market. In my opinion we need two players, but then it is up to the club."
The Italian refused to elaborate on the club's transfer targets: "As you can understand, I cannot tell you where. The club knows my opinion. My opinion is important for the club, but I cannot tell you my opinion."
"It is crazy to have a transfer window at this part of the season. We have a game every three days, but the summer is crazy as well. In August we played three or four matches.", concluded Sarri. Apparently, Nicolo Barella and Leandro Paredes are among Chelsea's main transfer targets this winter. However, as Mirror report, The Blues are unlikely to sign the Italian midfielder in January.
