Telefoot: Chelsea preparing an offer for Lille sensation Nicolas Pepe
- The winger is set to leave Lille when the transfer window reopens.
- The 23-year-old has been linked with the likes of Bayern and Barcelona.
- And now a French source claims Chelsea see Pepe as a perfect Hazard replacement.
According to respected French outlet Telefoot, Chelsea are preparing an offer for the 23-year-old Lille sensation Nicolas Pepe.
As per the source, the Blues have accepted the fact that Eden Hazard will join Real Madrid in the summer and see Pepe as a perfect replacement for the Belgian.
However, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are set to rival the Blues for the Ivorian's signature. Both clubs are allegedly keeping an eye on the 23-year-old with BeIN Sports even going out of their way to claim that Bayern's £80 million offer for Pepe has been accepted.
Earlier this month, Lille manager Christophe Galtier has admitted that it would be 'impossible' to keep the winger at the Ligue 1 club.
He said: "It's difficult to keep these type of players in our league. When the biggest clubs in Europe call you, it's really complicated. If Nicolas keeps going like this, he will be on the shortlist of all of Europe's big clubs. The player's desire is also important. I am sure that, if the moment comes, everything will be very transparent. We will all try to find the best solution possible."
