Chelsea fan and talkSPORT host Andy Jacobs is absolutely sure Maurizio Sarri is the wrong man for the job at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have failed to get a victory against Burnley while other contenders for the Champions League spot have all slipped up. Jacobs insists the Italian should leave the club in the summer:
"I’d be amazed if Sarri will still be manager next season. He’s wanted back in Italy, so with a bit of luck Chelsea will get out of having to pay him off. He’s just not up to it.
"I think Chelsea have got the third best squad and probably the worst manager in the league. The things he does, the second-halfitis thing… It’s happened eight times where they’ve given a goal away within ten minutes of half-time – that’s something that just shouldn’t happen."
Jacobs blames the manager for his tactical stubbornness as he never changes the formation: "They’re never going to score in the second-half, they just don’t do that, especially with the substitutions he makes. He never changes his tactics!"
The broadcaster also slams Sarri for subbing Kante off after the break in Burnley draw. However, Gianfranco Zola explained shortly after the game the Frenchman didn't feel well due to 'contusion in his ribs':
"I’ve got nothing to say about Burnley other than well done. They defended well and did what Burnley do. It was down to Chelsea to break them down and the half-time substitution of Mateo Kovacic [brought on for N’Golo Kante] was ridiculous."
