'He’s crazy if he goes there': Chelsea-linked Jadon Sancho urged to snub Man United

12 days ago , Denis Schepanskiy

  • Chelsea, United, City and Liverpool are all linked with the Borussia Dortmund winger.
  • Anfield is the perfect option for the 19-year-old, insists Steve Nicol.
  • The second-best is City, according to the Liverpool legend.

Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol has dubbed Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho 'crazy' if the 19-year-old is really considering a move to Man United amid interest from Chelsea, City and the current European champions.

"I think he’s crazy if he goes to Man United," he said on ESPN FC. "We’re talking about he’s struggling in a team that’s struggling [Dortmund] - Man United are going to be struggling for a couple of seasons, so I would stay away from there.

"Well if I was advising him, let me put it that way, I would like to see him at Liverpool. I think he would be fantastic. If he could get his head around playing second fiddle to Mane and Salah, then that would be huge for Liverpool in my opinion. They could save the legs of both of those two and kind of swap the three of them in and out.

"But he’s not going to do that, he’s going to go somewhere to play. So I think Liverpool’s out. City, if he wants to play, a kind of a similar scenario to Liverpool. It would be great for him to be there, he’s going to win things as he would at Liverpool, but he’s probably not going to play as much as he wants. So I think that rules them out."

The England international's contract at Dortmund expires in 2022. BVB are set to ask €140million for him. Chelsea are believed to be eyeing a move for Sancho once the transfer ban is lifted (The Telegraph).

What would be your advice to Nicol over his career as a pundit?
