Here's how our players fared tonight.
- Ronald Araujo β 9
The Uruguayan was rock-solid defensively against Real Sociedad, being Barcelona's best performer of the night. Araujo's speed, composure and leadership skills continue to impress.
- Marc-Andre ter Stegen β 9
The German was great during the 120 minutes against La Real, producing several brilliant saves to keep us in the game. During the penalty shootout, Ter Stegen was at his absolute best, saving two shots.
- Frenkie de Jong β 7.5
Despite the penalty he gave away and the one he missed, Frenkie was great overall, even getting a goal to his name. The Dutchman's work-rate was as impressive as always, being useful on both ends of the pitch.
- Antoine Griezmann β 7
Although it wasn't his best game in terms of finishing, the Frenchman once again proved that he's a highly-creative player. Besides the assist he got to his name, Griezmann created several chances for his teammates. Unfortunately, he missed his penalty.
- Riqui Puig β 7.5
Despite getting only 30 minutes of action, the youngster put up a great show, proving that he's perfectly fit to lead our midfield. His dribbles and passes were simply splendid. It was Riqui that scored the winning penalty.
- Ousmane Dembele β 6
Dembouz had a great start of the game, arguably being Barca's best player in the opening 30 minutes. What happened later was ugly to watch, as Ousmane started to hold on to the ball for too long and ignore partners in better positions.
Comments
Puig with the final blow Ter Stegen deserves our utmost respect and he need to be protected at all cost. My heart was beating at the speed of light.
Vamos
I never enjoy penalty shootouts. My heart is always pounding ππ
My heart was racing man π©
i was just shouting anyhow π π
Two scenarios I don't fear when I see Ter in goal - One V One and penalties. He's up there with the very best of them
it was a very tensed game we were so lucky not to conceed from a corner.... I was damn scared Ter Stergen deserves our praises tonight he kept us in the game for 120mins and even the penalty shootout
but now you can happy right??
Yes oo. Very happy π
Me too ...man the moment Griezmann missed and they scored i was like....owff...waiting for Puig for his final shot...and it went in!!!
Immediately I saw Puig, I had this assurance that we had won the penalties
Real Sociedad saw the line up without Messi, and they thanked God for giving them the win. Then Ter Stegen waived a finger with those big gloves; 'Not so fast, boys,' he protested, 'God sent me in Messi's stead today. I am the shield and the wall; no victory for you on my watch.' Then follows little Riqui behind him in the confidence and power of the the angels. Ter Stegen, Man of The Match. He gets a 10. Puig, a solid 9 for that fantastic penalty. The team played very poorly. I won't even bother singling out any one. But I am glad we got the win; albeit a drag-out, muddy fight. Thank you, LORD. Onward and upwards. Messi, please get well and get back soon!!!! ForΓ§a BarΓ§a π₯
I wish u know u well I really like and enjoys your speech. Perfecto bro.
I appreciate you, brother. Many thanks.
The team played a nice game Our midfield needed the magic of Puig who alone could give defense splitting passes aside Messi. Dembele was the worst player in that pitch, loosing the ball too easily and trying to cut his ancestors till he is dispossessed even in front of goal. Araujo has undoubtedly shown us that he is the future puyol of the team, a solid wall that stands strong always. Mingueza manned the right wing like it's his father's inheritance, I love you boy. Griezmann has never been lucky in penalties, but aside that, he had a very good game, with his runs, passes and all that. No doubt, the griezman we bought is gradually coming back. Terstegen, what more can I say, we know you are the best, you no doubt showed it once again. In all, we are into the finals and it's a goallllll. Unto the next match but I think the players need a day off.
one bad game shouldn't be a point of reference, and at least he is better than some in terms of Chances created
I said, he was the worst player today, I didn't say forever
Yeah he had a bad game, and it's normal in football. got u right π€
in fact not just a day off I saw Dejong managing an hamstring likewise dembele they need to be rested and well massaged
They need a team rotation, but for now, a day off will do
true talk
you are right β bro
