Marca: Alcacer's transfer to England is much closer
- Paco Alcacer is reportedly close to his switch to Watford
- However, Barcelona do not plan to sell the player but to send him on a two-year-loan with an obligatory buyout clause proposed for Watford
- Last season, the striker made only 18 overall appearances for the club, scoring 6 times and giving away 3 assists
Barcelona are supposedly negotiating with the English side, Watford, over the Spanish forward's move.
The player is expected to make a switch to the English Premier League on a two-season loan basis, with an obligatory term for the English side to buy the player out when the loan term expires.
According to Lluis Miguelsanz of Marca, the details are approved, but the sides still need to conclude an overall agreement.
About a month before, Barcelona confirmed the departure of Gerard Deulofeu to Watford on a permanent basis.
Alcacer, 24, joined Barca from Valencia in 2016 but has started only 14 La Liga games in the subsequent two seasons. The Spanish is expected to have a status of "out-of-reach" player this season as well, in case he stays at Barca.
