Barca's hot prospect Carles Alena is in the list of 100 players nominated for the Golden Boy award this year, presented by the Italian's magazine, Tuttosport.
The 20-year-old central midfielder, currently recovering from injury, has been an essential part of the Barça B squad of late, playing more games than anyone else in Division 2A last season (37), scoring 11 goals and providing two assists, per official website of FC Barcelona.
The player is expected to be the main Barca B candidate to be promoted into the first team this season. At least Valverde reportedly relies on the Spanish youngster.
